Vacation Day 2 - Downtown disney

We got up and moving pretty early and ran over to the shoney's for breakfast. Iz ate nothing but bacon and cheese sauce.

We made it to our resort (Caribbean Beach Resort) around noon. We planned it this way so we would check in early and would hopefully beat the 3pm check in rush. It worked. It took about 5 minutes for us to get checked in and get our welcome packet. We also got "My 1st Visit pins" and "Happy Anniversary pins". Mike and I wore our Anniversary pins every day....I have never had so many people (cast members) wish me a happy anniversary before....it was kinda cool.

After unloading the car in the room we hopped a bus to downtown disney for a snack.

Mike and I split a roatbeef sandwich from Earl of Sandwich. Andrew wanted nachos...so him and Iz split those.
The kids then spied Mr Potato and Buzz Lightyear. They ran over for a photo.

We then went into the store and let the kids get a box of Mr Potato Head Parts. for 20.00 you get a box and can fill it up with all sorts of parts. We ended up with Mermaid, star wars, and buzz lightyear parts...as well as some Misc hands, noses, and hats.
We then headed over to Goofy's candy Co. to make some snacks. Andrew got a pretzel rod dipped in milk chocolate, rolled in M&M's then drizzled in caramel. Isabel got a pretzel rod dipped in milk chocolate, rolled in sprinkles and then drizzled in caramel. Mike and I shared a pretzel rod, dipped in milk chocolate, rolled in pecans drizzled in caramel....pics to follow of the kids eating them in the room :)
While waiting on our candy to harden enough to take home, Andrew found a fun house mirror.

We then decided to head back to the room, but on the way the kids needed to talk to donald and daisy.

And of course stop by and cool off in the fountains...

Then we headed back. Everytime we got on a bus Iz insisted it was time to sleep...

We went back to the room and rested a bit. We then drove over to the Beach Club and had dinner at Cape May. It was a "clam and mussel bake" It was a pretty good buffet. I ate a few clams, I've had them before, but I'm not too sure they agreed with my pregnant tastes. They did however have the best desert...it was a chocolate dome. basically it was an oreo cookie with a cookies and cream mousse dome then covered by milk chocolate. I could have ate tons more, and taken a few home with me...but I didn't :(
This ended day 2 of vacation. Tomorrow we head to the Magic Kingdom!

Vacation here we come :)

We just returned from a week long vacation to WDW. I chose not to pay their 9.95/day Internet fees, so I am now going to blog about the vacation. Rather than do it all at once I will do 1 day at a time so I can post photos of the activities.

Day 1 -

Well really this was day 1/2 of vacation. Mike didn't get off till noon, so we decided instead of driving 10 hours on Friday that we'd drive halfway when Mike got off work and then drive 5 hours the next morning so we could have time to rest and gear up for the full day's ahead.

Mike got home around 11 and we finished loading up the car. We truly packed enough that if we would have became stranded we could have lasted for days. The kids were very excited as were the adults. We drove to Walterboro, NC and stayed the night in the econolodge. Not our normal hotel, but it worked for the night.

I made some yummy sandwiches for dinner and the kids enjoyed a picnic inside the room. There really isn't much else about Day 1 to share.

Well other than apparently the room we were assigned was a hanging place for some band of painters/construction workers. They had backed up their truck and were tailgating in front of our room : Thankfully they didn't stay around for long...but it was hard keeping the kids out of the window...pointing at the men saying mama what are they doing...are they having a birthday party !!?!? Yeah fun right ...lol

15 weeks and loads of stress

So today I had my 15 week appt. (actually I am 15 weeks 6 days) and we had a bit of a scare. SInce many of you might not know the in's & outs of Naval Hospital Life I'll give you a a bit of a background. If you are seen at the Naval hospital and you are a normal (or routine) pregnancy then you will only be seen by a midwife (not a big deal, I saw then with both Andrew and Iz) you can only make an appt with an OB if you are a complicated OB patient. So when I had my last appt (which was just my physical and was with an RN) I asked if I could see a specific OB to "check in" with her. She was the one who treated me when we lost the baby in 07, and she was the one who listened to me and decided to send me to an RE. The RN had no problem with it and the appt was made with her today.

At my last appt my BP was high, which for me is odd because my BP is never high. In fact it was taken the week before I found out I was pregnant and was well within normal and at 7 weeks was perfect too. I attributed it to the fact that it was at our 11 week physical in 07 that the nurse couldn't find the heartbeat, but told us not to worry because we were getting an ultrasound that afternoon. Turns out all was not ok, so I figured that was a big part of it.

The appt went ok, but the nurse again couldn't find a heartbeat. This time instead of doing an ultrasound she said since I had one the week prior that she'd just have me come in in 4 weeks instead of the normal 6 (like that was supposed to ease my fears or something.

Back to today I had the follow-up appt. Again I was super worried that something might have went wrong, so again my BP was high (145/71) So now my OB decided to do some base bloodwork and do a 24 hour urine catch (whoo hoo right!) We are hoping everything is ok, and our trip next week is not affected!

Anyway back to the appt, so she pulls out the doppler and goes to find the heartbeat, she assures me that she probably won't find it (thanks to scar tissue and flab ...lol) but that if she doesn't she'll pull the portable u/s machine in. She searches and I swear she's trying to dig into my old c-section scar, no heartbeat. So she goes and gets the portable u/s machine and before she starts she says I hate this machine it never gives good pictures. so she looks and again...nothing.

She says lets pop down the hallway and do a regular ultrasound. So we trek down the hallway kids in tow to the u/s room. Now the naval hospital has strict policies regarding u/s and kids. Kids are not allowed in the room for any reason (or that's what the flyer on the door says. But alas, my kids are allowed to come inside and sit in chairs.

The u/s tech goops me up and low and behold there is the little heart just flickering away. Can you see why my BP is high?!?!?!

So thankfully I feel much better and much more relaxed. So I head to the lab to do my blood work. We get finished and head home. We arrive home and the phone rings. They apparently drew my blood into the wrong tube (again....this makes twice this pregnancy they used the wrong tubes) so now when I go in to drop off my urine I have to have another set of bloodwork done. Thank goodness I have good veins :)

13 weeks down

We've officially reached the 2nd trimester. Morning sickness has been replaced with after I eat sickness. I also have a huge aversion raw chicken. I am supposed to go do an early gestational diabetes test because my babies were large but I haven't yet. It's hard to get the energy to drag a 4 & 2 year old to the hospital to sit in the waiting room for 1 hour. Mike is supposed to have a long weekend so hopefully I'll be able to get it done over the holiday.

The weather is going crazy...80 one day then a low of 31 the next. No wonder my allergies are going haywire. Andrew had a soccer game this weekend. He did so good! We previously had a problem with him pushing other kids, but after a long talk and no ice cream after the game I think he finally got the idea that it isn't football.

Allergy Testing

Andrew had his allergy testing done today. We decided to to it because we have been battling his eczema since he was 6 months old. The dermatologist wanted to know if he had some sort of food allergy that was causing flare ups. Turns out he is allergic to 3 things...Cats, Dogs, & mold (not penicillin ..like leaf mold) We have 2 dogs and a cat. The allergist said since they are outside animals that he saw no need in getting rid of them. He is staying with his current medicine plus adding a steriod nasal spray.

Ironically MY allergies started acting up while at the office and now I have a horrible sinus headache....

Crappy appt

So I had my ob appt today. It was the normal physical etc. Well the nurse said my BP was up (145/83) which is is NEVER that high. She asked if I was nervous and I said that at our 11 week appt last time was when we couldn't find the heartbeat. She then tells me that she probably won't be able to find it this time...and tries all of 30 seconds. Then says well I'll have you come back in 4 weeks so we can hear it there. NORMALLY if they can't find it they will bring in the portable us to check it...but nope, not this time.

So I requested to see a specific OB at my next appt (she was the one who did our D&C and was the one who treated my infertility at the beginning. The appt nurse was really snippy saying that if it was a routine appt then I was to be seen by a midwife instead of an OB (even though on my appt sheet it said which dr for me to see) so she shipped me off to another nurse. She made the appt for me....so now I have to wait till April 24th....what a bunch of crock!

On the other hand I lost 7lbs in my first 11 weeks of pregnancy :)

A night of peace

A few months ago Iz started waking up at night. She watched tv before bed and if she woke up and it was not on or was on a different channel she freaked out. We went to Arkansas in Feb and she fell asleep watching tv, but then slept the rest of the night. We get back here and she falls into her old routine of falling asleep then waking up about every 2 hours so we can start he movie over again. It was getting old...really old. So I found her CD player that we used when she was much younger, put in a rest and relaxation by the sea CD and after her movies was over the 1st time I turned on her CD player. She woke up around midnight. Mike got up and made sure she wasn't wet and then told her to get back into bed. She screamed at him. But he just shut her door...she screamed for under 5 minutes, climbed back into bed and is still asleep at 9:20 this morning. YAY I truly think some of her moodiness was coming from not enough sleep....so keep your fingers crossed for tonight!
