Allergy Testing

Andrew had his allergy testing done today. We decided to to it because we have been battling his eczema since he was 6 months old. The dermatologist wanted to know if he had some sort of food allergy that was causing flare ups. Turns out he is allergic to 3 things...Cats, Dogs, & mold (not penicillin ..like leaf mold) We have 2 dogs and a cat. The allergist said since they are outside animals that he saw no need in getting rid of them. He is staying with his current medicine plus adding a steriod nasal spray.

Ironically MY allergies started acting up while at the office and now I have a horrible sinus headache....

Crappy appt

So I had my ob appt today. It was the normal physical etc. Well the nurse said my BP was up (145/83) which is is NEVER that high. She asked if I was nervous and I said that at our 11 week appt last time was when we couldn't find the heartbeat. She then tells me that she probably won't be able to find it this time...and tries all of 30 seconds. Then says well I'll have you come back in 4 weeks so we can hear it there. NORMALLY if they can't find it they will bring in the portable us to check it...but nope, not this time.

So I requested to see a specific OB at my next appt (she was the one who did our D&C and was the one who treated my infertility at the beginning. The appt nurse was really snippy saying that if it was a routine appt then I was to be seen by a midwife instead of an OB (even though on my appt sheet it said which dr for me to see) so she shipped me off to another nurse. She made the appt for me....so now I have to wait till April 24th....what a bunch of crock!


On the other hand I lost 7lbs in my first 11 weeks of pregnancy :)

A night of peace

A few months ago Iz started waking up at night. She watched tv before bed and if she woke up and it was not on or was on a different channel she freaked out. We went to Arkansas in Feb and she fell asleep watching tv, but then slept the rest of the night. We get back here and she falls into her old routine of falling asleep then waking up about every 2 hours so we can start he movie over again. It was getting old...really old. So I found her CD player that we used when she was much younger, put in a rest and relaxation by the sea CD and after her movies was over the 1st time I turned on her CD player. She woke up around midnight. Mike got up and made sure she wasn't wet and then told her to get back into bed. She screamed at him. But he just shut her door...she screamed for under 5 minutes, climbed back into bed and is still asleep at 9:20 this morning. YAY I truly think some of her moodiness was coming from not enough sleep....so keep your fingers crossed for tonight!

Sunshine at last!

Yeah yeah yeah....another blog about the weather. Today is the first full day of sunshine I have seen in years! Ok, well not quite years, but many days =)

Today the kids and I are going to clean out the strawberry/tomato bed. We need to pull out old weeds and till up the soil so we can add some compost. Its still a little early to plant anything here. Its rumored that we are going to have a cold snap this weekend. The last few years I planted early then had to scramble to find things to cover my plants. This time I am going to wait a bit longer to do my planting.

We have our fresh strawberries and blueberries, and I try and grow a few large tomato plants for sliced tomatoes, a few cherry tomato plants for snacks/salads, and a few roma tomato plants for fresh salsa. I didn't can any tomatoes this past year because we had so many from the year before. This year I will need to can some, but there is a farm in the neighboring town that has them for 15/bushel and that's where I'm going to get my canning tomatoes from

Last year we tried corn (unsuccessfully) but we have had success with spaghetti squash. The spaghetti squash was an accident though, It was a volunteer plant that emerged in my compost bin....It did however produce around 15 spaghetti squash. This year we are going to try some cucumbers and some mini pumpkins...and maybe some watermelons.

Well sesame street is almost over so its time to get moving for the day. Till next time!

Drained

The weather sucks. I wish it'd make its mind up to either be sunny or rain. Everyplace around us has gotten a few days of rain, but its like a bubble is around us...all we've gotten is the cold, gloom, clouds. Its just draining. I would love to just go to bed and hibernate....but with 2 small children in the house and the umpteen runs to the bathroom thanks to child #3, not only did I not get to sleep in, but was woke up rather early.

Its supposed to be sunny tomorrow....I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one. I need a day of sunshine!

One Step Closer

Today was a pretty big milestone. When we were pregnant in Sept 07 the baby stopped growing at 9 weeks (we didn't find out till I was almost 12 weeks). So this pregnancy I have been depending on making it to the 9 week mark so I can breathe. Today we had our second ultrasound (our first was at the fertility dr...but this one was at the OB's office) anyway. We are 9 weeks 4 days....so we have officially made it to the point I can breathe.

We are now debating on another thing....do we find out the sex ...stay tuned for more!
